Sri Balaji Maintenance Services  was started in 1999 by V.G.Sundar Kumar, a graduate in Electrical and Mechanical  Engineering from Bangalore University and possessing over30 years of experience in all types of Maintenance and Reconditioning of machine tools and facilities. He started his career with HMT (Machine tool division, Bangalore) as Maintenance Engineer and acquired over 10 years of experience in Maintenance Department.  He moved on to leading Lamp cap manufacturers like Metal Lamp Caps and Rao Insulating Company and established Lamp cap project with UK machineries.  These machines are highly sophisticated high speed machines which includes Transfer Press, Rivetting Machine and Vitriding machine.  All these machinces provide facilities for the component to be delivered to various places through synchronised cam operate devices  and the component delivery with proper orientation through vibratory bowl.  These machines produce 120 caps per minute.  He was also exposed to modular type PCB manufacturing machines, Power press and Shearing machines maintenance used for stampings. He was with Panyam Cements for a short period of one year as AGM (Maintenance).  He was exposed to Wire drawing machines, pointing machines, Shaving machines, Carborisisng and Pickling plants, Thermax oil heaters.  He also lent his hand at Tyre bead wire line which consisted of various baths and imported Oil Tempering furnace.   Later he joined Anand Technology Resource Park (Group Company of Anand with over 45 units located in India) and established Vibration analysis centre, machine building and Reconditioning division with facilities like independent shed with EOT Crane, Testing and inspection gadgets and several machines were built/reconditioned for Anand Group at these places.  He also has been exposed to  CNC Machining and Turning Centers , Center less  Grinders, Multi spindle Automats, Sliding head automats, at Maini Precision Products where he was employed as DGM(Maintenance)  for 4 years. He had the privilege to reconditioning of imported  Spring Coiling machines, End Grinders, during 2000 before joining them in 2004 as Maintenance Consultant.  Both at Maini Precision products as well as at Stumpp Schule he had the opportunity to introduce TPM, 5S, and Lean management.  He has also associated with small group activities to help get over impeding problems on shop floor which has yielded high productivity. Attempts to understand CmK studies were made for improvement of Original equipment effectiveness.   Steps were also taken to contain energy consumption by study of harmonics in the power circuit and improvements made in Compressed air consumption.
